Our 10-Point Charter for Cherishing the Natural Environment.

Thank you for being a responsible visitor and joining us in our commitment to an eco-friendly and sustainable camping experience:

  1. Leave No Trace: Respect the unspoiled beauty of Rushbanks Campsite by leaving no trace of your visit. Take all your litter with you and dispose of it properly. Leave nature untouched for others to enjoy.

  2. Stick to Designated Paths: Stay on designated paths and trails to protect the delicate ecosystems of Rushbanks and the neighbouring field and woods. By avoiding off-path exploration, you help preserve the flora and fauna that call this place home.

  3. Protect Wildlife: Observe and appreciate the wildlife at Rushbanks from a safe distance. Do not disturb or feed them. Remember, this is their habitat; they deserve our respect and protection.

  4. Campfire Safety: Only use our firepits, please exercise caution and follow safety guidelines. Please do not forage for wood - fallen branches are vital habitats for fungi and insects. Only use provided firewood and extinguish fires completely before leaving. Help prevent wildfires and keep Rushbanks safe by keeping a full bucket of water next to your fire.

  5. Preserve Waterways: The rivers and streams at Rushbanks are precious resources. Please do not pollute or contaminate them. Use eco-friendly soaps and detergents when using our facilities, and never throw anything into the water.

  6. Mindful Canoeing: When canoeing along the River Stour, practice responsible navigation. Stay clear of sensitive habitats, respect other water users, and be aware of your environmental impact. Take nothing but memories and leave nothing but ripples.

  7. Respect Fellow Campers: Keep noise levels to a minimum, especially during nighttime hours. Respect the privacy and tranquillity of other campers, allowing everyone to enjoy their natural surroundings fully.

  8. Pitch Perfect: Set up your campsite in designated fields only, leaving six metres between you and your neighbour. Avoid damaging vegetation or disturbing wildlife habitats. Leave your pitch as you found it, or even better.

  9. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle: Embrace the eco-friendly ethos of Rushbanks by reducing waste, reusing items where possible, and recycling properly. Utilize the recycling facilities provided and help us minimize our environmental impact.

  10. Spread the Message: Share the Rushbanks Way with your fellow campers and encourage them to follow these guidelines. Together, we can create a community dedicated to protecting and cherishing the natural environment for future generations.
